Belgium

Rooming with Garcia here in Nivelles, Belgium. We’ve been here for two days, GP Samyn starts tomorrow. Garcia say’s that Scott Nydam is too big of a deal these days and that is why he doesn’t email me anymore or post on his blog. He also says Nydam is busy ironing and framing his numerous agressive rider and KOM jerseys.

The weather is suppose to be good tomorrow but, today we woke up to this:

Garcia woke up at 5 in the morning banging on things and shouting “its snowing out side…huh”!! Then I told him the clock was wrong and it was not 7 it was 5am. He then sighed and back to bed for another 4 hours.

I saw this in the airport. It doesn’t look like that great of an advertisement and at first I was wondering what exactly they are claiming is in Belgian coke.

Sayers and I came across a 20″ laptop…unbelievable.

Epidemic

Man, its only February and I am getting tested for the 4th time. I’m sitting in this lab waiting for my turn and I hear this clicking and low chiming sound. I look over and I see a little kid playing a Nintendo DS then I look to my left and I see this older lady playing one. And no they didn’t know each other. I’m starting to think this video game thing is much worse then just occupying teenagers lives.

ToC 08

Man, ToC went well.
Started with a mediocre Prologue and then a dumb solo break and turned into BMC being the talk of the week. Man, the guys road great. We had someone competing in every part of the race, guys up the road, guys going for GC, and guys finishing strong. I don’t think I have ever been on a team where the collective effort was so great. While I have been depressed with how I did things, I couldn’t be happier for the guys. We really road as a team and watched out for one another this week. I am glad to see such motivating momentum as we enter the 08 season.

But, Congratulations to the guys especially those who got to stand on the podium at the end in Pasadena that was a long hard week.

And a personal thanks for all those who supported us. Especially, the BMC management and staff for all their work as well as all of those who were sending motivating emails my way throughout the week.

Off to GP Samyn, and West Vlaandereen next week.

Qatar Stage 3

We got a little bit of a break today. That is it was head wind for the first 30k’s so it wasn’t from the gun. But, as soon as it turned right it was a full gas party and if you could ride in an echelon you were invited. I made the second echelon at first which then caught the 1st group for a short period of time. Then we ended up changing direction like every 2k left, right, left, right. I came into a roundabout and got slammed into the long way around and that was it for my good position. I later crashed and then got spit out the back of the second group. I was pretty lucky in the crash barely even got a scratch, unlike Nydam yesterday, who DNF’d and spent the evening in the hospital getting checked out. He’s alright just allot of road rash and bruises. But, Bovay crashed out and broke his collarbone today. Not good. Were losing a guy everyday. Wind, Sun, Chaos, dudes wear all white and woman wearing all black, seems to be the theme of Qatar so far.
