Badger!

Stories No Comments »

Well today was the day. The first time I have ever encountered a badger, a ferocious one at that. I knew this day would come and was eagerly awaiting it but, yet fearfully wanting to postpone it. But, today as I was training just outside of Greenfield, WI, I spotted a badger just off the road. I have had many false encounters with animals and objects impersonating badgers in the past. Animals such as squirrels, ground hogs, beavers, possums, small dogs and big cats, large rodents as well as things like wood, branches and stuffed animals. But, today I tangled with a Badger and am proud to say I won, as you can see by the picture.

This dude was easily like 40-50 lbs with teeth like a shark and claws like a wolverine (not the animal, the dude in those movies). I wasn’t even wearing gloves. He ain’t dead in this picture, just knocked out. After I took the picture I woke him up with a good spray to the face with my energy drink and he went wimpering off. Teach him to mess with me! He bent up my frame pump a bit but, it still works.

Bunk Beds and Coffee

Ben and I are in Milwaukee again. This time for no reason at all. I have slept in bunk beds for 4 nights in a row. Atleast last night I got the bottom. Its a real pain when you gotta use the bathroom in the middle of the night and climb down without a ladder, I got use to it though. The only other obstacle was a ceiling fan. This is alot harder than it sounds as the fan blades are level with your neck when you sit up on the top bunk. And probably a foot or so away from hittin you when your at the edge. Guess for safety we should have turned it off. Actually the ceiling itself becomes an obstacle as well. Because when you go to jump up, dodging the fan, you can hit your head on the ceiling. Atleast I did, a few times. Bunk beds are tough. I remember once when I was little, my younger brothers had bunk beds. I was sleeping on the bottom for some reason. I had a crazy nightmare, in the middle of the night, and must have kicked upward, knocking the mattress above me up and it came down at an angle against the wall. I woke up to my little brother, Liam, yelling because he was wedged between the wall and the mattress. It wasn’t cool. Yeah, bunk beds are just plain dangerous now that I think about it.
